BAHA'I SCHOOL TADONG CELEBRATED 200TH BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF THE BAB

Baha'i School Tadong celebrated Bicentennial (1819-2019) Birth Anniversary of the Bab, the forerunner of Baha'u'llah, the Prophet Founder of the Baha'i Faith on 2nd October 2019.The prophecies regarding the appearance of a Universal Manifestation of God are found in all the Holy Scriptures. on May 23, 1844, His Holiness, The Bab, revealed His Mission and started preparing His followers for the great event of the appearance of the Promised one. The Bab was born on 20th October 1819.

The Chief Guest of the celebration was Mr. M.T. Sherpa, Secretary, Education Department, Govt. of Sikkim, and the Guest Honour was Shri Suman Rai, Inspector, Gangtok Municipal Corporation, Shri Atish Rai, Bazar Officer, Gangtok Municipal Corporation and Shri Deepak Gurung, Sub Inspector, Gangtok Municipal Corporation.

The program highlighted importance of Moral Values in our life, Junior youth Spiritual empowerment program, oneness of religion, child labor,  no plastics etc. further homage was paid by offering flowers to the father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on his 150th birth anniversary, with the theme "Swachata Hi Sewa" through dance, song, quotations, skits etc. 

The program started with a welcome speech by the Principal Mrs. Rupa Devi Sharma and concluded with the speech by the Chief Guest Shri M.T. Sherpa, addressing to students and parents about vast knowledge around us which can be acquired by experience, observation, good reading habits. He further added that students should not be dependent on bookish knowledge only. He highly appreciated the quality of the program and the efforts put in by students and the teachers. And another speech by Guest of Honor, Shri Suman Rai, also addressed the audience spreading the awareness on garbage and sanitation other environmental issues.

The program was attended by 500 guests and the students. The school thanks all the teachers, Animators and the participants of Baha’i Moral Class and the junior youth Spiritual Empowerment Program for all the befitting presentations.
